Metal Free Full Ceramic Crowns (M-Press, Procera)

Opposed to the metal ceramic crowns there is no metal framework. These crowns totally consist of porcelain. The gingival margin solely meets porcelain, thus the aesthetic results are extremely high. The transparency enables a very natural appearance. Admittedly these crowns or bridges do not have as a high stabilty as conventional metal ceramic bridges. This is why we use them only in the incisor region. They do not come into considertion in the region of the side teeth or for longer bridges. M-Press is a full ceramic that is produced from Vison Lew oder Ivoclas. This ceramic is also recommended for the production of Veneers.
Since there is no framework and they totally consist of porcelain maximal 3 chain bridges are possible. Magnificent transparency thus ideal for sole anterior tooth crowns or Veneers.

Advantages:

- magnificent aesthetic
- no dark crown edges
- no allergies
- shoulder or groove preparations necessary; thus increased protection of the gingiva or periodontal apparatus

Disadvantages:

- comprared to full ceramic or Zircon bridges they are less stable; breaks easier or can get cracks
